Streaming Video Options

  • Films on Demand – A comprehensive collection of high-quality educational videos licensed from a long-established educational media distributor.  Thousands of videos cover a wide range of topics organized into multiple broad subjects. These subjects are then further divided into narrower subjects.  Individual segments subdivide each video into discrete shorter units.  These titles do change occasionally but unlimited access to all titles

     

    Nearly all titles in the collection have closed-captioning.  Toggle on/off closed captioning using the CC symbol in the lower right corner of the video player window.  Most titles in Films on Demand have accompanying scrolling transcripts displayed in a sidebar to the video window. 

  • Kanopy – NEW this year! – click to login with your starID - This is a pilot, we’re offering this with a limited budget. Kanopy contains thousands of award-winning documentaries and theatrical releases. Producers include the Criterion Collection, The Great Courses, New Day Films, California Newsreel, Kino Lorber, PBS, First Run Features, Media Education Foundation, Documentary Educational Resources. Login to view the catalog, we pay after a title has been viewed four times.
       
  • Swank Films – NEW this year! –  click to login with your starID - This is a pilot, we have limited film titles that we can switch out at any one time, these titles will have unlimited access to view but unlike Films on Demand, we don’t have access to the entire catalog of 25,000+ films. Swank has more feature films. Login to the Swank Films Digital Campus to see titles that have been licensed already and search to see available titles.  Click on a title you’d like to request and it sends it to the librarians to activate.

     

    Faculty if you don’t see your title, please request titles by submitting this form .  Advance planning is important to ensure we have access to the titles you’re seeking or for us to try to identify a reasonable replacement.
