Pursue an active lifestyle, learn a new skill, and make personal connections by getting involved with Recreation & Wellness. Recreation & Wellness offers club sports like basketball, volleyball, flag football, and soccer, which compete with community colleges in the area. Rec & Well also hosts intramurals, open gym times, and off-campus events like bowling.
Additionally, Recreation & Wellness offers fitness and wellness opportunities that are open to all, fostering a sense of inclusivity and acceptance. These include group fitness and open weight room times, providing a supportive environment for your fitness journey.

Flag Football
Season kicks off in September!
As a member of the team, players are expected travel to road games and participate in practices. Only currently enrolled students are eligible to play and participation is free. Previous football and/or flag football experience is encouraged, but NOT required.
Open to all genders. Free to participate.
Flag Football Schedule Season
Games are played on Thursdays at 3 PM Club Flag Football Playoffs and Championship are the Thursday of MEA in October. All games and practices are played at NHCC. Spectators are free to watch.

Basketball
Soccer
Club soccer has drop-in soccer times (indoors & outdoors *weather dependent) and organizes games against other colleges and universities. Must be current NHCC student. Previous soccer experience is encouraged, but not required. No cost to participate. Open to all genders.

Group Fitness Classes
Currently enrolled students and staff can drop into fitness classes throughout spring semester for free. Classes meet on a regular basis when academic classes are in session.
Disciplinary Policy
All students are expected to follow standards of behavior as outlined in the Student Code of Conduct (Chapter 3).
Locker Rooms and Lockers
Lockers with combo locks are available for semester-long use to currently enrolled students and employees in the Men's and Women's Locker Rooms. Lockers in HWC Hallway outside the gymnasium are available as well. All student lockers must be emptied at the end of each semester. Request a locker online or visit the Recreation and Wellness Weight Room Desk (HWC 166) during open hours. If you have questions or are having issues accessing a locker, contact Nathan Field, Recreation & Wellness Coordinator, in CC 101A or call 763-488-0195.
Dance Studio/Dojo
Location: HWC 167
Dance Studio/Dojo is available and free to use for current NHCC students and employees. All reservations must be made at least 24 hours in advance. Individuals may make reoccurring reservations. However, if individuals fail to show up more than twice in a row during reoccurring reservation the remainder of the reservation will be canceled. Dance Studio/Dojo reservation request online or please contact Nathan Field, Recreation & Wellness Coordinator, in CC 101A or call 763-488-0195.
- Reserve in advance or available on first-come basis
- No food or drink allowed, only water.
- Athletic shoes only. No boots, dress shoes etc.
- Do not sit, use, or store anything on the Aikido mats
- Individuals must clean up when finished and pull door shut making sure it is locked and secured.
