Certificate FAQs
NHCC's certificate programs can be completed in one or two semesters.
If you choose to continue after completing your certificate program, in many cases, certificate classes transfer into related associate degree programs. It's a good idea to speak with an academic advisor if you're considering continuing on to an associate degree.

It's a good idea to speak with an academic advisor if you're considering continuing on to an associate degree.
Great question. It depends on your career goals, your current professional experience, and your current education level.
For example, if you have an associate degree or bachelor's degree in an unrelated field and you want to enter the paralegal field, all you'd need to be qualified is a paralegal certificate.
Another example is the Phlebotomy certificate. If you have no related professional experience and you complete the Phlebotomy certificate at NHCC, you're qualified to work as a phlebotomist, which can be a great entry-point to working in a healthcare setting.
Generally, certificates are credentials that show employers you completed college-level training and are likely to have the specific skills associated with your certificate. By combining previous education and professional experience with a career-focused certificate, you're likely to be more appealing to employers and have more career options.
If you're not sure what credential is needed to work in a specific field, you can speak with an admissions representative (if you are not admitted/or are newly admitted), or your academic advisor (if you are a current student or a new student and you've completed your enrollment steps). It's also a good idea to do some basic research on your own.
Certificates range from 9 to 30 credits.
Credit Costs:
General credits: $210.42
Online credits: $220.10
Phlebotomy credits: $253.75
