CARE Center FAQs
The CARE Center is a one stop shop for all non-academic needs at North Hennepin Community College that provides comprehensive support to students including counseling services, basic needs assistance, and connections to various on-campus and off-campus resources.
All currently enrolled and partner university students at North Hennepin Community College are eligible for services.
Counseling Services: Personal counseling for stress, anxiety, depression, relationship challenges, and other personal concerns.
Personal Counseling: Emotional support (anxiety, depression...), Academic struggles (time management, test anxiety, procrastination...), PSEO student, Life adjustment (college, end of relationship...), Learning coping skills
Mental Health Counseling: Chronic and/or recurring mental health concerns, coping with trauma, History of interpersonal and/or sexual violence, previously diagnosed with mental illness.
Basic Needs Assistance: Support for food insecurity, housing instability, and financial emergencies.
Resource Connections: Links to community resources for health, wellness, and other essential needs.
Support Groups: In addition to individual services, the CARE Center hosts support groups that are designed to gain community and support around various needs such as academic success, substance use, and parent support.
Masters Level Internship Program: NHCC CARE Center is offering a comprehensive internship experience to help the next generation of Mental health professions get trained and experience.
