The Librarians and the Library’s online resources are still available to you! Check out the databases above in the search box for One Search of journals, databases and our custom subject guides.

To get direct assistance doing research for classes from the librarians, you are welcome to call or email Lisa Abrazo (lisa.abrazo@nhcc.edu) and Craig Larson (craig.larson@nhcc.edu) or utilize our Chat Reference Service (box on the upper right side of the library homepage). We will be monitoring Chat Reference between the hours of 10:00 am and 6:30 pm, Monday through Thursday, so if you log-in at those times, you’ll have a good chance of connecting with one of us. We are happy to set up appointments or answer questions as they arise, even outside of our posted hours, please let us know your availability and need. Remember, the Chat Reference service is also always available, 24 hours a day, 7 days a week.

For appointments, we will be using the Zoom platform to work with students.

           What you will need?
You will need a computer with a speaker and microphone capability (many people like to use a headset/microphone), and internet access.

           How does it work?
Just prior to the start of your tutoring session, make sure your computer is turned on and that your volume and recording levels are functioning. Have your NHCC email open. At the start of your appointment, your tutor will   send you an email with a link inviting you to join them in their “meeting space” in the Zoom platform. Just double click the link and the platform will open up. Both you and the tutor will be able to share pages from your respective computers, as well as to speak with each other.

           Questions?
If you have questions about your equipment or any technical issues, please contact the Help Desk, 763-424-0957 or helpdesk@nhcc.edu.

We know that some of you have books checked out from the library and that you might be worried about overdue fines/fees or potentially having your records blocked. We are going to waive all fines for overdue books from now through the end of the spring semester (we may need to revisit this and add further extensions depending on the situation at the time). If you do receive an automated notice from the library, please don’t worry about this—we will not place blocks on your record due to unpaid fines.
