October 15-November 15, 2018
Opening Reception on Thursday, October 25, 2018, 6 p.m. - 8 p.m.
Joseph Gazzuolo Fine Arts Gallery, FAC 135

Artists Maria Cristina and Xavier Tavera explore the complexities of Spanish language and culture regarding social-political issues between Mexico and the United States in this new body of work, "Coyotes y Gallinas". This thought-provoking exhibition plays with the duality in the Mexican mythology of Huehuecoyot who represents the good and the evil as well as equilibrium between the old and the new, the mundane and the spiritual, and the masculine and feminine.

God of Carnage

November 30-December 8, 2018
NHCC Black Box Theatre, Campus Center, 2nd Floor, CC 242
Directed by Mike Ricci

A playground fight between two 11-year-old boys brings together their parents for a meeting to resolve the matter. At first, diplomatic niceties are observed, but as the evening progresses, and the rum flows, tensions emerge and the gloves come off, leaving the couples with more than just their well-intentioned principles in tatters. Winner of the 2009 Tony Award for Best Play, this play has been described as a streamlined anatomy of the human animal, a study in the tension between the civilized surface and the savage instinct that lurks within all of us.
