The Paralegal department at NHCC offers an American Bar Association approved Paralegal A.S. degree or certificate, preparing students to assist lawyers and administrators of law-related occupations. Faculty who teach paralegal courses are licensed attorneys, providing relevant information in this field. Students in the paralegal program also have access to peer paralegal tutors, as well as opportunities to gain experience through internships and practicums. The Paralegal Program does not train graduates to provide legal services directly to the public. Any person who attempts to provide legal services directly to the public, but is not licensed to practice law, engages in the illegal and unauthorized practice of law.
