NHCC DEI Dept hosts the Warrior Women Project to Celebrate Women’s History Month
March 6 through March 15th: Walk around the campus of NHCC to participate in the Warrior Women’s traveling exhibit through viewing 18 life size banners, photographs and oral histories which present an inside look into the women who were on the ground during Wounded Knee ‘73. The exhibit is build upon from decades of oral history interviews, forming a rich and multi-faceted experience that sheds light on the often-overlooked narratives of indigenous women. This thoughtful presentation of the women's biographies, co-written with living narrators when possible, give context to their contributions and experiences. The exhibit's launch in Porcupine, SD as part of the Wounded Knee 50th Anniversary events marked a significant step in preserving and honoring the legacy of these warrior women, ensuring their stories continue to inspire and educate future generations. Visit this site for more info on the traveling exhibit. - Stay tuned for Warrior Women film screening
