NHCC Choral and Vocal Departments Present: Elemental
Friday, December 13th, 2024, 7:30- 9:00 P.M., FAC Theatre
NHCC Vocal and Choral Departments present ELEMENTAL: NHCC’s singers present a celebration of nature and sound, through the fundamental forces of our world: earth, air, fire, and water. From grounding harmonies that evoke the strength of the earth to the soaring melodies that capture the freedom of air, students will perform works by Saunder Choi, Timothy C. Takach, Carlotta Ferrari, Bob Chilcott, and Bob Dylan, alongside selections from The Hobbitt, Lord of the Rings, and other film favorites.
Doors open at 7pm. Concert begins at 7:30. Soundcheck will begin at 6pm on stage. This concert is free, but a donation of $10 is suggested. The performance is appropriate for all ages and will be directed by Gary Ruschman, NHCC Director of Choirs. Visit YouTube to view the live-stream.
Orchestra Concert

What do Harry Potter, the conflict in the Ukraine, George Gershwin and the Pink Panther have in common? An eclectic evening of music, directed by Judy Blomgren, will help answer that question. The performance begins with the magic, mystery and wonder from the movie Fantastic Beasts. George Gershwin’s compositions span both popular and classical genres, including An American in Paris and Rhapsody in Blue. Composer Brian Balmages wrote Kyiv 2022 in the first weeks of the Russian invasion of Ukraine as a fundraiser to support humanitarian relief efforts. The concert ends with music from Pink Panther. Tired of all the Holiday music everywhere? Join us for a palette cleansing evening of HOT Jazz and come in from the cold! Featuring classics by Hank Levy, Billy Byers, Chuck Mangione, Buddy Rich and more your toes will be tappin' all night long. From the Midnight Ride of Paul Revere to the Northern Lights, join the NHCC Concert Band for an exciting evening of music that transcends time and space to tell a story. Featuring works by Samuel Hazo, LeAndre Benton and a Micro-Symphony by JaRod Hall, there are no holds barred as we take High Flight and a thrilling Tobaggon ride through the wintry woods.
