This past month, NHCC intern, Hadiatou Kann interviewed three of her fellow interns about their occupations at NHCC to show the reality of being a summer Brooklynk Intern.

Admissions Intern
HK: What is your first and last name?
MSP: Moises Soto Puente.

MSP: 17.
HK: What is your occupation?
MSP: I am an Admissions and Outreach Intern.
HK: How would you rate your occupation from 1 to 10?
MSP: 10!
HK: What does a person who works in Admissions do?
"We talk to people, we guide them to where they need to go, we help them out with whatever they need."
HK: What is the toughest part about your job?
MSP: I’d say remembering everything, you need to remember stuff to get people to where they need to go.
HK: Lastly, would you develop a career in Admissions?
MSP: I would explore it. Yeah, I'd definitely explore it after this.

Student Life Intern
HK: What is your first and last name?
DA: Dileyta Arba.
HK: What is your age?
DA: I am 17.
HK: What is your occupation?
DA: I am a Student Life Intern at North Hennepin.
HK: How would you rate your occupation from 1 to 10?
DA: I think maybe an eight or nine.
HK: What do you usually do when you start your day?
DA: Usually I fill out any tasks that my supervisors give me and if I don’t have anything to do for the day, I'll find something to do and at noon I come here and open the Weight Room.
HK: Why did you want to work in the Student Life department?

DA: I chose Student Life because it was a good way for me to get to know the campus better and I thought it would be more interesting than other departments.
HK: Who can open the gym?
DA: My supervisor, myself and one other Weight Room Coordinator.
HK: Is NHCC's gym accessible to both men and women?
DA: Yes! It is accessible to anyone who is a NHCC student.

SP: Sarah Payton.

SP: 19.
HK: What is your occupation?
SP: I am a Financial Aid Intern.
HK: How would you rate your occupation from 1-10?
SP: 4.
HK: Why do you rate your occupation at a 4?
SP: Sometimes there’s not really much to do, but the things they have me working on now are actually really fun because I'll get to make a whole survey by myself, and get to ask people questions.
HK: What is the hardest thing about your job?
SP: I would say focus.
HK: What is the most exciting part about your job?
SP: Meeting new people.

Marketing Intern

SB: What is your name?
HK: My name is Hadiatou Kann.
SB: What is your age?
HK: I am 16 years old.
SB: What is your occupation?
HK: I am a Marketing Intern.
SB: How would rate your occupation?
HK: I’d say a 9.5.
SB: How did you like interviewing other interns?
HK: It was pretty fun! I got to see other intern’s perspectives and have insight on how their jobs were.
SB: Would you consider a career in marketing?
HK: Yes! I believe that everything needs marketing and it would be a fun job to have.
In the summer of 2023, NHCC partnered with the City of Brooklyn Park for their Brooklynk Intern program. From June 20th through mid-August, NHCC has welcomed six Brooklynk Interns to campus.
