Background: I joined the North Hennepin Community College accounting faculty in 2007, bringing more than 15 years of teaching experience in both the online and classroom environments.
What Courses you teach at NHCC: I have taught all the accounting courses offered at North Hennepin Community College and currently teach the following: ACCT 2111 Financial Accounting, ACCT 2112 Managerial Accounting, ACCT 2300 Accounting Capstone.
Credentials: I graduated from the University of St. Thomas with a bachelor’s degree in accounting and complete a variety of continuing professional education courses annually to stay current. I have experience as a tax practitioner in public accounting and I am a Certified Public Accountant.
Teaching Philosophy: I believe that teaching and learning are a process of continuous change and discovery. I engage students by using practical examples and incorporating a variety of technology-based tools to accommodate the students’ learning styles. Education is not a stagnant field. I am in this field because of the ability to change and improve upon what I do and how I do it.
