Leanne Zainer holds a B.S. degree from the University of Wisconsin-Eau Claire and Ph.D. from the University of Wisconsin-Madison. Her areas of specialization include research writing, science writing, and American Indian Literature. Her Ph.D. thesis is Enduring Violence: Representation and Response in Contemporary Literature.
She is the recipient of teaching awards from the University of Minnesota and North Hennepin Community College.
Leanne's work has been published on Bright Bones: Contemporary Montana Writers and Montana Horses Magazine. She has recently completed her book Backbone: A Memoir of Riding in Glacier National Park and the Blackfeet Indian Reservation.
In her spare time, she hikes, rides, and kayaks.
