Hi there!
My name is Ellie McDowell, and I am new to North Hennepin Community College as of June 2022. I was hired as the College Social Worker to collaboratively and creatively work alongside students to support their basic needs such as accessing food, shelter, housing, transportation, and more! Prior to coming to NHCC, I worked with K-12 students in the public school system in a similar role as a school social worker where I served as the link between school, home, and the community to meet the needs of all students. My greatest passion is having the opportunity to meet individuals where they are at and walking alongside them as they obtain their goals. I am excited for the opportunity to work in higher education and to be a part of the wonderful NHCC community. Please stop by and say hello anytime!
