March 30, 2023 - Campus Statement Regarding Nashville Shooting
Dear NHCC Community,
This past Monday, March 27, 2023, the nation witnessed the Covenant School, in Nashville, Tennessee experience one of the deadliest US school shootings since last May’s massacre in Uvalde, Texas, where 21 people were killed. We are exceedingly grieved at this horrific violence that took the lives of three 9-year-olds and three adults.
We mourn the lives of the six victims, 9-year-old students Evelyn Dieckhaus, William Kinney, and Hallie Scruggs, and three adults, Katherine Koonce, Cynthia Peak, and Mike Hill. We send our deepest condolences to their friends and families, in addition to many others in the surrounding communities who are impacted by this loss.
We are committed to healing and stand in solidarity with our Nashville and LGBTQ community, to continue supporting and protecting every member of our community.
