At NHCC, we offer healthcare programs in Human Services, Health Sciences Broad Field, Histotechnology, Medical Laboratory Technology, and Nursing or Nursing, advanced standing to help you begin your career in today’s growing healthcare industry.
Our new Health Sciences Broad Field AS includes instruction in the basic sciences and aspects of the subject matter to prepare students for a wide range of occupations in the health field. It also is designed to transfer into a various baccalaureate degree programs.
If you are good in science and math, and know that your career path leads straight to the laboratory, come explore the Histotechnology or Medical Lab Technology programs. By testing blood, other body fluids, and tissue samples, your work will be essential in monitoring the effects of treatment in ongoing cases and in pinpointing the diagnosis in new cases. You will benefit from a semester of clinical experience, an internship in which you will apply your lab skills and knowledge directly to workplace challenges by testing actual patient specimens under the guidance of certified professionals. Our classes are taught by professionals working in the field and our programs prepare students to become certified through national testing.
If you are a caring individual interested in a fast-paced, technologically advanced career or want to be a vital member of a healthcare team who provides exceptional patient care, then consider our Nursing programs. Learn evidence-based patient-centered nursing care; participate in nursing simulations, demonstrating your abilities to respond to real-life nursing challenges; gain clinical experience in settings which could include: acute care, long-term care, and home-based care; and engage with expert faculty in a blended curriculum, face-to-face, online, or by classroom capture. Our Nursing program will prepare you to enter the profession of nursing and take the National Council Licensure Examination for Registered Nurses - we are proud to report a 90-100% success rate in graduates passing the RN licensing exam!
