Speaker Biographies

Barbara F. Brandt, PhD

As center director of the National Center for Interprofessional Practice and Education housed at the University of Minnesota, Dr. Brandt is responsible for engaging leaders and experts across the country in this ground-breaking effort to improve health by realigning health professions education and care delivery. In addition to her responsibilities as center director, Dr. Brandt serves as associate vice president for education at the University of Minnesota Academic Health Center. Dr. Brandt is also responsible for University of Minnesota 1Health initiative to build interprofessional practice skills of students in a broad range of health professions. Dr. Brandt holds a bachelor of science in history from the University of Illinois at Chicago and master of education and doctor of philosophy degrees in continuing professions education from the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign.

Sahra Noor

Sahra Noor is the Chief Executive Officer of People's Center Health Services. Sahra is a public health nurse with more than 15 years of experience serving medically underserved populations in the Twin Cities as a leader and clinician. Prior to joining People's Center Health Services in August 2014, she held leadership roles at Fairview Health Services as director of community health and language services and at UnitedHealth Group as director of clinical operations for Medicaid populations. Sahra is active in her community and serves on several community nonprofit boards including Institute of Clinical Systems Improvement (ICSI), CommonBond Communities and Minneapolis Public Health Advisory Committee (PHAC). She holds a bachelor's degree in Nursing from St. Catherine University and a master's degree in Nursing and Health Systems Administration from the University of Minnesota. In March 2015, Sahra was named one of the Twin Cities top 40 business leaders under the age of 40 by Minneapolis/St. Paul Business Journal.
