Institutional Effectiveness


The Office of Institutional Effectiveness and Research serves the Administration, Staff and Faculty of North Hennepin Community College by providing the institution with the information and data required to support decision-making, facilitate intellectual inquiry, and assure the integrity and accuracy of the data for which North Hennepin Community College members serve as stewards.


The goals of the Office of Institutional Effectiveness and Research are simple and few:

  • To support data-driven decision making, the Office of Institutional Effectiveness and Research will provide accurate and timely information to North Hennepin Community College's decision makers
  • To aid institutional members in the design, implementation, and analysis of studies that answer research questions
  • To administer student engagement and satisfaction surveys with the goal of identifying areas to improve and enhance student learning
  • To establish a single source for every datum
  • To facilitate and coordinate the AQIP accreditation process


As an accredited institution of higher learning, North Hennepin Community College is required to report information about our student body to a number of interested organizations, including, but not limited to:

  • ACT Survey
  • College Board
  • Integrated Post-secondary Education Data System (IPEDS)
  • Minnesota Career Information System (MCIS)
  • Peterson Guide
  • Upper Midwest Association of Collegiate Registrars and Admissions Officers (UMACRAO)
  • Higher Learning Commission (HLC)
