North Hennepin Community College, one of the largest and most diverse two-year colleges in Minnesota, is accepting applications for 1 unlimited, full-time, Medical Laboratory Technology Faculty.The Medical Laboratory Department at NHCC is an engaged group of faculty interested in delivering the highest level of instruction to our students. Faculty work as a team to consistently deliver content to students interested in pursuing their AAS in Medical Laboratory Technology. The Associate of Applied Science in Medical Laboratory Technology is designed to articulate to Saint Cloud State University B.S. in Medical Laboratory Science degree. The Medical Laboratory Technology program is accredited through the National Accrediting Agency for Clinical Laboratory Sciences (NAACLS). Chief Diversity and Affirmative Action Officer (MnSCU Academic Supervisor 1)

Open to current North Hennepin Community College employees only. The Chief Diversity and Affirmative Action Officer (CD/AAO) will lead efforts for organizational change toward intercultural competency, direct affirmative action planning and investigation, data collection, and provide leadership in the areas of diversity and equity to the North Hennepin Community College campus. The position will provide leadership and direction toward NHCC’s goal of ensuring an inclusive community that nurtures learning and growth for all of its members. The CD/AAO shall serve as the NHCC’s appointed Chief Diversity Officer, and also represents the college at the system office. The CD/AAO will collaboratively work with both individuals and groups within and external to the college and maintain a visible profile both on campus and with external constituencies. The CD/AAO will take the lead in engaging the college community in learning opportunities regarding intercultural competence and diversity, resolve issues constructively within college policy, and meet monthly with the President’s Executive Team, attend weekly Dean’s meetings and serve as a member of the Minnesota State Diversity Officers Team. Additionally this position is responsible for working collaboratively with the College Administrators to coordinate the development of and implementation of best practices and cultural competency across student services and all environments conducive to teaching and learning. Direct and supervise the operation and staff of the Diversity and Equity Office.

This position provides professional assistance to the project director, academic advising, guidance, and support services to UB/TRIO program participants. Assist in identifying and selecting eligible program participants. Conduct individualized needs assessments. Develop individualized academic success plans with participants. Provide guidance for students applying for college. Monitor student academic progress. Develop action plans for students who are struggling academically. Assist participants with college exploration and admissions. Coordinate tours to colleges and universities. Assist participants with applying for financial aid and scholarships. Assist in organizing activities for the academic year and summer component and is responsible for providing one to one and group advising for program participants under the supervision of the program director. Assist in the development and conduction of career, scholarship, and other related workshops. Provide direct service to students at three target high schools, Brooklyn Center, Park Center, and Robbinsdale-Cooper. Work effectively with the UB/TRIO team to meet the goals and objectives as stated in the approved grant proposal. Communicate with North Hennepin faculty and staff, participating in program development, serving on college committees, organizing cultural events for program participants, assisting with program evaluation, and completing other assignments as directed.
